Kuşadası Travel Guide: Pigeon Island, Beaches and the Marina

On the coast of Aydın, reaching out into the Aegean, Kuşadası has been a beloved holiday town for many years thanks to both its lively seafront and the historic and natural riches around it. As a stop for cruise ships too, its harbour is a convenient base for exploring the region.

Pigeon Island and the marina
Connected to the shore by a causeway, the small Pigeon Island (Güvercinada), with its castle and greenery, is the emblem of the town; the gulf view from here at sunset is enchanting. The modern marina, with yachts, cafés and shops, is busy all day and ideal for an evening stroll.

Beaches and surroundings
Ladies Beach and the coves around it stand out for their fine sand and clear sea. The nearby Dilek Peninsula National Park appeals to nature lovers with its hidden bays and walking trails. Ephesus and the village of Şirince are also very close for day trips.

When to go and tips
May–June and September are the most ideal months for both sea and weather; July–August are hot and crowded. For the national park, an early start and bringing water matter. A programme combined with Ephesus enriches the trip.

Exploring Kuşadası and its surroundings makes for a few enjoyable days. Planning your accommodation options in the region in advance helps you make the most of your holiday.
